Creative Professional Development Opportunities for Young Artists (Ages 16-26)

We believe the professional and creative development of young adults is a vital part of providing high-quality programming and building strong communities. As a result, University Settlement is now offering two different tracks to support young adults.

The Play Tank Performance Intensive offers opportunities for young artists to practice and expand their performance and collaboration skills. This intensive culminates in the creation of an original collaborative production. No prior arts experience needed. This program is designed to support young community leaders as they develop their talents and creatively empower themselves.

Since community-based organizations running camps and after-school programs are among the largest employers of young adults in New York City, The Play Tank Performance Intensive recruits young community leaders and after-school youth workers who are often tasked with using the arts to create transformational experiences for the children they work with.

The Performance Project Fellowship is a year-long creative career mentorship program. It is specifically designed for local, early emerging artists/cultural organizers (between the ages of 18-26) who want the intensive support needed to build a sustainable career in the creative sector.
