The holiday season brought communities together at our homes in the Lower East Side and Brooklyn. Check out this round-up of program celebrations:

  • Thanksgiving Lunch at the Senior Center: Every year our Senior Center hosts Thanksgiving Lunch for seniors in the community. This year our staff including Michael Zisser, CEO, Melissa Aase, Executive Director, and Amy Mereson, Director of Youth, Education and Arts Programs were on hand preparing and serving hot meals. By the end of the day, over 175 meals were served!Click here to view photos.
  • Kids Giving to Kids: For our annual Kids Giving to Kids event, children of board members joined together with children from the Early Childhood Center for an afternoon of arts and crafts, music, and holiday fun. Families were entertained by musical guests and the ballooniac while they enjoyed tree decorating and tasty treats! Click here to view photos.
  • A Brooklyn Nets Christmas: On Christmas day, DYCD Youth Connect and the Brooklyn Nets invited 25 kids and 10 adults from our Ingersoll Community Center in Brooklyn to the Nets' game vs. the Boston Celtics. Participants got to be on the court with the basketball players during the national anthem, then each child received a gift from a player! Click here to view photos.
