A Three-Day Workshop with Brendan Connelly
Hosted by The Performance Project at University Settlement

What is Sound? What is Music? And Noise?
How does sound, music and noise influence our experience of art and life?

How can we listen more actively and consciously?

The Resonant World dives into these questions, exploring topics such as musical time and structure, acoustics, signal/noise, diegesis, Foley, underscoring, soundscapes and script analysis, and basics of audio software (Audacity, Qlab) and hardware (microphones, mixing boards, speakers) Ultimately creating our own DIY sound design.

The Resonant World is a great workshop for makers and students of performance and media who want to expand their understanding and develop their skills AND for those who are curious and excited about the sonic world that shapes and informs our human experience.

Brendan Connelly is a composer and sound designer for theater, dance, film and experimental performance.
