Mixed Movement's Weekly Dance Session is a structured but free-form opportunity to connect to your body's wisdom, release your creative spirit and join a supportive community. The first hour offers guided warm ups and the second hour is an opportunity to truly get down to music that will inspire you. Meet your body's needs. Enter into a session at either 5:30 or 6:30. Whatever your movement background may be – get into the mix!

DawN Crandell is the creator of Mixed Movement,  an improvisational dance approach that brings different dance communities together to perform or develop through classes and open sessions. She is also an interdisciplinary performing artist creating work in the space where dance, theater, and poetry meet. DawN has performed extensively in NYC over the past twenty years at such venues as Brooklyn Academy of Music's Harvey Theater, New York Theater Workshop, Lincoln Center- Out of Doors, Central Park Summerstage, The Legendary Blue Note, La Mama, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Bowery Poetry Club and the 92nd Street YMCA. She has an international presence,  performing throughout the UK,  in Belgium and the Netherlands. While earning her MFA at Goddard Collage she focused on 20th Century Black Radical Artists and the intersections of dance, poetry and theater. She has practiced and taught multiple forms of movement and fitness for nearly 20 years.
