Mattering: an Arts Forum

Ticket Information
This event is free and open to the public

Presented by the Institute on the Arts and Civic Dialogue (IACD) and their Founding Director Anna Deavere Smith.

The IACD is interested in exploring how the Black Lives Matter and All Lives Matter movements are affecting artistic imaginations. This two-day forum will highlight developing works that consider race relations in America.

The Institute on the Arts and Civic Dialogue is founded and directed by dramatist Anna Deavere Smith. The mission of the IACD is to support artists whose works address pressing social issues. The Institute creates a meeting place for artists, scholars, and audiences to exchange ideas and generate new work. The Institute also supports arts education, through the development of curriculum for use in high schools and colleges, and by maintaining an extensive library of archived materials that are available to artists and arts teachers. The IACD is housed at New York University, where it is funded by a generous grant from the Provost's office.

This event is free and open to the public.
