Our Family Table just got a lot warmer with our newest sponsor – The Bourbon Review! The ultimate guide to the Bourbon lifestyle, the magazine covers the people, the culture, the science and the art of Bourbon – and now they'll be showing their support for University Settlement and its partner organizations, The Door and Broome Street Academy at our first-ever shared fundraising gala on Wednesday, October 22.
We're also thrilled to announce a special performance during the fun-loving desserts and spirits hour from M.C. Records recording artist Dayna Kurtz. Kurtz is known for her smoky vocals, used to amplify a blend of styles, including R&B, pop, jazz and more. Well-loved by artists like Bonnie Raitt and Norah Jones, her tour resume includes performances with Rufus Wainwright, Elvis Costello, Mavis Staples, B.B. King and others. This singer, songwriter and guitarist is sure to bring the perfect spark of entertainment to close out our evening.
University Settlement has a long tradition of hosting extraordinary events focused on good food, good drink and good experience. From working with some of New York City's – and the world's – most renowned chefs (André Soltner, Jacques Pépin and Jacques Torres, to name a few) to serving the most distinguished wines (1982 Chateau Margaux, anyone?) to hobnobbing with some of the city's most fun celebrities (oh hello, Tracy Morgan and Nasim Pedrad!), University Settlement always throws a memorable party.
Dubbed the "anti-gala gala," Our Family Table will be a vibrant and exciting night, starting with a champagne reception, followed by a seated dinner of stylized comfort food and family-style favorites, ending with a dessert and spirits bar and an up-on-your-feet celebration set to live-music. With The Bourbon Review and Dayna Kurtz now on board, the closing spirits bar will be a truly spirited affair – a great and warm way to end what's sure to be University Settlement's most fantastic fundraiser yet.
Don't forget, if you want to join in on the fun, you can purchase your tickets here today. Can't wait to see you there!
