The New Yorker: Adam Gopnik interviews André Soltner as he prepares for University Settlement fundraiser

Chef Andre SoltnerThe New Yorker's Adam Gopnik recently spent some time with Chef André Soltner as he prepared for his one-night-only return to "'le piano,' as French cooks call their stoves," for University Settlement's 9th Annual Fine Wine Dinner & Auction. You can read about his time with the renowned chef in the April 1st issue of the magazine.

An Evening at Lutèce with André Soltner promises to be a truly special night for a worthy cause - all of the proceeds raised at the dinner will go directly to supporting University Settlement's myriad programs for low-income, working families throughout New York City.

As Soltner told Gopnik, he counts his cooking "by the looks of satisfaction on the faces of the people who have eaten my food...I want them to be pleased." Judging by Gopnik's description of Soltner's "perfect" sauce béarnaise, our Wine Dinner guests will be pleased indeed.
