Performance Project Curator Making News On Stage

Lisa Clair, our very own Performance Project Associate Curator/Coordinator and former artist-in-residence, is making headlines on the stage for her latest work. Though she's quite busy with US getting our new artists-in-residence shows on the calendar, she's spent her free time creating and performing What's YOUR Problem? A Deep Space Lounge Act. Performed at Cloud City in Brooklyn through April 4, the show tells two simultaneous stories - one about the process of Clair's medical diagnosis with multiple sclerosis and one about aliens invading the body of a fictional lounge singer. continue

For more than six years, the students in our Beacon Program at East Side Community High have been excelling in soccer and other after-school sports. We're four-time champions and our team numbers have skyrocketed from 10 the first year to nearly 50 today. As our team grew, our need for a proper practice field did, too. Partner Organization Welcomes Duke & Duchess of Cambridge

Two of New York City's leading youth organizations – our partner organization The Door and The CityKids Foundation – welcomed Their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for a tour and youth performance, including original song, dance and theater pieces, during their first official visit to New York City. Additionally the Duke and Duchess sat down for a private meeting with eight young people from The Door and The CityKids Foundation to learn more about their experiences growing up in New York City, the obstacles they faced, and the steps they took to shape who they are today. continue

Our Ingersoll Community Center served as the perfect host for an announcement from Mayor de Blasio and NYPD Commissioner William Bratton this week about decreased crime in New York City. Ingersoll was specifically mentioned by city officials for its contribution to decreasing crime in Fort Greene by extending hours and providing exciting, dynamic activities for the community to enjoy.
