Social Worker

As the first settlement house in the nation and for over 130 years, University Settlement has been empowering New York residents by building on their strengths through comprehensive, quality services that meet the current needs of the community; innovation that anticipates future needs; and advocacy to improve the community as a whole.
Wellness Together aims to improve quality of life by improving physical, mental health, and independence for older adults who are homebound. The program offers comprehensive services for participants through home visits and technology that accessible for most people: TV and telephone. This is a one-year position.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Provide intake assessment, service plan development, case management, and partner coordination for a small group of participants
  • Oversee special outreach efforts to engage community partners and older adults who are in need of the services
  • Collaborate with University Settlement Mental Health Clinic to guide participants into treatment planning to address mental health needs
  • Work with the program director in gathering and analyzing data to inform programmatic decisions
  • Provide weekly supervision for social work interns
  • Perform other tasks consistent with this job description as assigned by the supervisor

What We Are Looking For:

  • You have an MSW; LMSW preferred
  • You must be Bi-lingual English/ Spanish or English/Cantonese or English/Mandarin.  
  • You know that communication is key.
  • You have experience engaging older adults.
