Site Director (Older Adult site)

Supervisor: Program Director, University Settlement Neighborhood Center


As the first settlement house in the nation and for over 130 years, University Settlement has been empowering New York residents by building on their strengths through comprehensive, quality services that meet the current needs of the community; innovation that anticipates future needs; and advocacy to improve the community as a whole.

The Site Director will provide daily planning, supporting, and monitoring of all programming at the new location (The Max Meltzer Senior center). You will also support the Program Director and the overall integration of older adult services across sites. You will be responsible with opening and closing the facility and ensure that Meltzer Center is clean, safe and welcoming. You will provide high quality programs for our older adults; keeping them healthy, happy, and connected to the community. You are enthusiastic and able to roll up your sleeves to provide the day-to-day services of the operation. This is a great opportunity if you are passionate about adults/older adults and ready for the next level.


You will also:

  • Monitor of staff performance levels with respect to contract mandates, workloads, and program quality
  •  Conduct participant outreach and intakes and provide case assistance for participants
  •  Submit reports to all funders and partners on time, all the time
  •  Network and develop relationships with outside partners, program collaborators and the Tenant Association
  •  Keep extermination, AED, Fire Drill, and other logbooks up to date
  •  Support integration of all older adult services settlement wide and within the other sites

Must haves:

  • You have 2+ years' experience working with older adults (senior citizens)
  • You are Bilingual in Spanish OR Cantonese OR Mandarin
  • Master's Degree in Social Work or related field 
  •  You have a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion

Bonus points if:

  •  You have supervisory experience
  •  You are technologically savvy with fluency with Microsoft Office
  •  You know that communication is key
  •  You love working with older adults and are a relationship builder
  •  You thrive in a busy environment, and love to strategize, be creative and inventive
