Housekeeper (Substitute)

As the first settlement house in the nation and for over 130 years, University Settlement has been empowering New York residents by building on their strengths through comprehensive, quality services that meet the current needs of the community; innovation that anticipates future needs; and advocacy to improve the community as a whole.

The established older adults program provides comprehensive services to the diverse population of the Lower East Side. These services incorporate the Department for the Aging Health and Wellness model into the daily activities. Services include congregate and homebound meals, case assistance, social and recreational activities. Ongoing training and professional supervision provided.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Provide monthly cleaning for residents
  • Perform general, cleaning including kitchen, bathroom, dusting, vacuum, laundry, organization projects
  • Confirm each week's appointments the prior week
  • Friendly and respectful when engaging with residents
  • You have a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

What We Are Looking For:

  • You have 1+ years of professional house cleaning experience.
  • You have high cleaning standards and take pride in work.
  • You are organized, reliable, and able to manage time well.
  • You have a reliable way to communicate by telephone or mobile device.

Hours: up to 17 hours per week
