Supervisor: Program Director 

As the first settlement house in the nation and for over 130 years, University Settlement has been empowering New York residents by building on their strengths through comprehensive, quality services that meet the current needs of the community; innovation that anticipates future needs; and advocacy to improve the community as a whole.

The Prevention Program provides comprehensive home and community-based preventive services to children and their families. The program will provide services supported by the evidence-based model, Mobility Mentoring. The Program model includes working from a coaching model wherein the interdisciplinary team works closely with families in the community to establish and accomplish family-centered goals. The Program Supervisor for the Prevention Program will provide direct supervision to a team of case planners, Family Team Conference Facilitator, and Case Aide working to provide comprehensive case management and trauma-informed support services children and families in Brooklyn.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Oversee service delivery to families in Brooklyn
  • Attend trainings, develop competencies a serve as a leader in the integration of Mobility Mentoring and core practices into all work with families performed by team
  • Provide individual, weekly supervision to a team of case planners and support staff with required written documentation of supervision on all cases in real time
  • Train and support staff in best practices working with children and families
  • Work closely with program leadership and team concerning program development and services
  • Participate in client sessions and conferences as needed, which includes joint home visits, Family Team Conferences and other conferences with ACS partners
  • Serve as the liaison to staff and clients and provide outreach to the community
  • Collaborate with Program Director to prepare statistical reports
  • Oversee utilization of agency and community resources for clients and follow all regulations and procedures
  • Participate in all regularly scheduled meetings
  • Manage and ensure timely submission of documentation and reports in accordance with compliance standards

What We Are Looking For:

  • You are willing to be an advocate for your program, participants and community
  • You have a Master's degree in social work, mental health, or related field
  • You have 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • You have 3+ years experience working with vulnerable children and families
  • You have experience with Preventive Services, child welfare, and ACS mandates.
  • You have experience with ACS CONNECTIONS and PROMIS systems.
  • You are passionate about accuracy and meet deadlines on time all the time.
  • You thrive in a busy environment and able to shift hears when needed.
  • Work experience in community- and neighborhood-based programs
  • You have a flexible schedule- able to work weekends and evenings.
  • Strong communication skills
  • You have a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
