Family Services Coordiantor

Park Slope North Child Development Center, located at 71 Lincoln Place, in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn serves children from ages 2 to 5 years old. The center serves children from a diverse population of families. It is the ongoing mission of the Park Slope North Child Development Center to support children's development by appreciating individual differences, by helping them to live, learn and work cooperatively and by promoting their self-esteem as members of their families as well as our child care community. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive path to quality of knowledge, with safe, nurturing, educationally, and culturally sensitive childcare.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Intake/enrollment of children and facilitate referrals and inform them of community resources
  • Work with families of children with special needs and help them seeing goals; attend case conferences & follow-up meetings
  • Maintain complete and up to date documentation of files and ensure information is current
  • Determine eligibility and follow-up on re-certification for Child Care
  • Participate in parent involvement activities, meetings, workshops, and special events
  • Accompany parents to meetings as interpreters
  • Assist with implementation of the program evaluation process
  • Help with outreach and recruitment of children
  • Attend meetings, training or workshops off or on-site
  • Provide support in the classrooms and conduct home visits
  • Partner with the director when making decisions on day to day operations and perform general office duties

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences
  • You have experience engaging with children and families.
  • A plus if you are bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • You are technologically savvy with fluency in Microsoft Office.

Hours: 35 hours per week


Salary: Mid 30s, plus generous benefits
