Family Child Specialist- Manhattan

The Early Head Start and Head Start Program provides comprehensive child and family development services through home visits, center-based classrooms and case management. The program provides family support services and advocacy to low-income pregnant women and families with children birth to three.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Manage a caseload of families and conduct home visits
  • Coordinate parent/family involvement with Parent Provider conference workshops and activities
  • Take some program-wide responsibilities that may include annual events, parent/child groups, etc.
  • Develop consistent, stable and supportive relationships with families and children
  • Develop an individualized plan addressing needs and provide services
  • Provide appropriate referrals and follow-up with families and service providers
  • Provide workshops to families and staff
  • Assist in the recruitment of families
  • Assist in developing the Parent Council and other parent support groups
  • Maintain proper documentation on families and children
  • You have a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion

What We Are Looking For:

  • You have 2+ years of experience working with families and child development birth to three.
  • You are Bilingual English/Cantonese or English/Mandarin.
  • You have a BA in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Human Development or related field.

Salary: Mid 30s, plus generous benefits

Hours: 35 hours per week
