Medical Director / Psychiatrist

Supervisor: Associate Executive Director

The Psychiatrist will meet the psychiatric needs of children, adolescents, and adults.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Conduct evaluations and treatment to a population of children and young people in the office as well as TeleHealth; document all services provided inpatient chart at each visit
  • Review and approve all treatment plans for Article 31 patients
  • Provide psychotherapy and psychiatry services and other services including utilization management with insurance companies
  • Act as a liaison with attending medical providers at the hospital in the event of hospitalization
  • Assist in discharge and follow up in the event of client hospitalization
  • Provide clinical consultation to staff, agency managers and their designees
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Activities
  • Ensure necessary medical labs and follow up
  • Review incident reports as requested by the Clinic Director
  • Monitor medication management for patients
  • Performs crisis intervention and be on call in the event of urgent situations

What We Are Looking For:

  • You have a Medical degree.
  • You have a current license to practice medicine in the State of New York.
  • Current DEA registration and Board Certification in related specialty
  • You have experience in community psychiatry with a diverse population of clients.
  • You are a relationship builder with colleagues to promote successful outcomes for participants.
  • Willingness to be an advocate for your program, participants and community
  • You have a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion.

Hours: 21 hours per week – 7 hours per day for 3 days per week


Salary: Commensurate with experience
