Clinical Social Worker

Supervisor: Clinical Director and Assistant Clinical Director

Each year, we engage over 40,000 New Yorkers through our network of 30 sites in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Our mission is to empower the individuals we serve through comprehensive, quality services that strengthen families and meet the current needs of the community.


Responsibilities:

  •  Provide individual, group, and family therapy including behavior modification, cognitive behavioral, in-sight oriented and supportive therapy to an ethnically and culturally diverse population, ranging in age from 5 years through late adulthood
  •  Conduct pre-admission screenings
  •  Implement case management treatment plans
  •  Maintain reports, administrative and clinical records in accordance with OMH/DOH&MH standards insure requirements and program policies
  •  Facilitate intra/inter agency referrals as necessary
  •  Advocate for patients with other community based organizations and governmental agencies as indicated
  •  Conduct home visits as necessary
  •  Obtain and monitor managed care authorizations
  •  Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, training seminars and individual supervisory meetings
  •  Learn and utilize computerized treatment and billing programs
  •  Other duties deemed necessary by the Clinical Director pertaining to provision of effective services to patients and/or the community
  •  Demonstrated ability to engage new and resistive mental health clients
  •  Capacity to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team

Qualifications:

  •  MSW required
  •  LMSW or LCSW certification required
  •  Two years of clinical experience in a mental health setting preferred
  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills
  •  Experience with time limited treatment approaches
  •  Experience with treating children preferred
  •  Must have bilingual skills in English/Spanish or English/ Chinese

Hours: 35 hours per week


Salary: Low to mid 50s, with a generous benefit package
