Angelica Mondol Viaña

Angelica Mondol Viaña (she/her/hers) – Born in Puerto Rico but raised in Brooklyn, Angelica Mondol Viaña discovered her passion for dance at age 8. This was possible due to Ballet Tech/NYC Public School for dance and the Ballet Tech Foundation. She was scouted at her local elementary school where she was offered the opportunity to take quality professional ballet classes. Angelica attended Fiorello H Laguardia High School of Music Art and Performing Arts and Ballet Hispanico Pre-Professional Program on Full Merit Scholarship. During this time she expanded her knowledge of dance techniques to western styles (Ballet, Modern) and Latin styles (Flamenco, Afro-Caribbean, Salsa). Upon graduation, she received the Chancellor’s Arts Endorsed Diploma and the Ballet Award. She continued on to the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) for Dance. At CalArts and shortly after completion, Angelica danced with Ballet Hispanico as a member of BHdós. She’s performed pieces by David Parsons, Elisa Monte, Jennifer Muller, Bryan Arias, Robert Moses, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Michelle Manzanales.
