The honorees


Alan P. Winters is chief operating officer of Kingdon Capital Management.  He has served on the Board of University Settlement since 2000, assuming the role of chairman in 2003.  Throughout his tenure as chairman, Winters has exhibited exemplary leadership, vision and a tireless commitment to University Settlement. His many significant contributions include the creation of the Settlement's endowment campaign.

James K.  Finkel is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Dynamic Credit Partners, LLC. He has served on the Board of University Settlement since 2004.  Finkel has shown unwavering support of University Settlement throughout his tenure and has demonstrated tremendous commitment to the Settlement's annual fine wine dinner and auction that he created in 2004.

Master of ceremonies


Michael Green, who served as the exclusive wine and spirits consultant to Gourmet magazine for 19 years, is a well-known media personality who appears frequently on the Food Network, CNN, CBS Marketwatch, and Fox News. He has been featured in such print publications as The New York Times, Washington Post, Business Week, U.S. News&World Report and House Beautiful.

Executive chef


Marcus Samuelsson, chef and co-owner of Red Rooster Harlem, is a two-time James Beard award-winning chef. Other accolades include two three-star ratings from The New York Times, consecutive four-star ratings in Forbes' annual All-Star Eateries feature, recognition as one of "The Great Chefs of America" by the Culinary Institute of America, and winner of Top Chef Masters Season Two on Bravo.
