We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

    Position:

    Assistant Director, Foundation and Government Support

    Overview

    University Settlement serves people of all ages, from infants to senior citizens throughout our multi-racial and multi-ethnic community. Our programs work together to provide each person and every family with the practical and personal tools they need to reach their potential and attain true self-sufficiency. The Door, an affiliate of University Settlement, helps over 11,000 young people each year by empowering them to reach their potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment.

    Responsibilities:
    • Supervise all foundation, corporate and government grant seeking activity for University Settlement and The Door.  This includes RFP review, program planning, and writing/preparation of proposals, renewals and reports.
    • Work closely with Development Director, Executive Directors, and senior program staff of both University Settlement and The Door to create and implement strategic approaches to maintain and expand foundation/corporate/government support.
    • Write proposals as needed.
    • Supervise grant writers.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Minimum five years' development experience, specifically in proposal writing, foundation/corporate/ government relations, etc (including ample experience responding to government RFPs)
    • Excellent supervisory, leadership and analytical skills
    • Creative thinker, organized writer/editor, superior communication skills
    • Knowledge of youth development field and the non-profit funding community
    • Excellent computer skills including database, word processing, etc.
    • Ability to work independently, but as an effective member of the organizations' management team
    Salary:

    Commensurate with experience plus generous benefits package

    Hours:

    Full-time, 35 hours per week

    Supervisor

    Director of Development for University Settlement and The Door (these two agencies are affiliated and are served by one development office.)
