Position:
Clinical Supervisor
Overview:
The Early Head Start and Head Start Program provides comprehensive child and family development services through home visits, center-based classrooms and case management. The program provides family support services and advocacy to low-income pregnant women and families with children birth to five.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise the work of the family service staff in developing and maintaining a high quality program in child development, health, nutrition, social services and parent involvement to meet the fullest needs of families served.
- Oversee the development of an individualized family plan that will enhance the development of the child and promote a positive relationship between parent and child
- Assist staff in assessing parent-child relationship and provide appropriate guidance acknowledging family and cultural influences
- Administer developmental assessments for children and provide written reports to staff with anticipatory guidance and follow-up plan
- Ensure program compliance with Head Start Performance Standards regulations
- Provide infant/mental health training and guidance to staff and families
- Provide direct services to families through home visits and individual meetings with parents and staff
- Maintain all necessary documentation
- Assist in planning and evaluation of all program components with input from staff, parents, and community partners
- Other duties as requested by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Masters in Social Work, Clinical or Developmental Psychology, Infant & Child Mental Health, or related field with specialization in social services to families with young children.
- Five years experience working with families and children prenatal to three years of age
- Three years experience supervising staff
- Must have good organization, communication and writing skills
- Ability to write and speak Spanish and/or Chinese preferred
