Position:
Dance Instructor (Hip/Hop and Modern)
Location: East Side Community High School
Supervisor: Director for Beacon Program
Overview: Beacon Programs provide safe havens for 1,850 youths and adults annually. Beacon Programs provide academic assistance, cultural and recreational activities and drug prevention and reduction programs for youth in the community.
Responsibilities:
- Dance Instructor will work with groups of 15 to 20 young people (ages 14 to 19)
- Instructors will teach 2 to 3 classes per week from mid-September to the end of June. Classes will be 90 minutes in length.
- Instructor will teach Hip/Hop and Modern dance routines
- Instructor will be responsible for helping students choreograph and create dance routines for performances and talent shows.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years professional training in dance; Expertise in the genres of Hip/Hop and Modern dance
- Previous experience teaching Dance.
- Must be available to work 2 to 3 days per week from 4 to 6 PM
- Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Attend planning, supervisor, and evaluation sessions.
Salary:
$20 to $30 an hour

4-6 hours per week
