The links in this section will help you decide how to make the most effective contribution to our program. We need tutors, sponsors, mentors, organizers, and, most importantly, the funds to continue our important work.

Contributions from private donors provide the invaluable support needed to expand our existing programs and design new programs to address the changing needs of our constituents. Gifts from individual donors and foundations allow us to continue our long and vital tradition of innovation, piloting new programs which go on to become models for other agencies and which influence public policy debates at the local and national levels. Contributions to University Settlement are tax-deductible, and can be designated for general support or for specific projects or activities.

• Every $100 provides one day of after school care for ten low-income children.
• Every $250 provides six months of swimming lessons for ten preschoolers at the Houston Street Center.
• Every $500 provides seven weeks of summer day camp for an inner-city child.
• Every $1,000 provides one year of literacy classes for an adult.

Though all gifts are greatly appreciated, please consider the option of making your contribution via check to avoid the roughly 3% credit card transaction fee that will be charged to University Settlement.
